LG Electronics has expanded its cooling technology portfolio in Nigeria with a broader range of inverter-powered refrigerators. The new lineup aims to help households reduce energy consumption and manage rising electricity costs.
The company released a statement explaining that the expansion reflects growing consumer demand for energy-efficient, durable home appliances. Inflationary pressures and an unstable power supply continue to shape spending patterns among Nigerian households.
According to LG, refrigerators drive a significant share of residential electricity bills because they operate continuously. To address this issue, LG’s inverter compressor technology automatically adjusts cooling power based on usage conditions. This mechanism improves energy efficiency while maintaining stable temperature control.
LG noted that the technology also supports better food preservation. By enabling faster cooling recovery after power interruptions and maintaining consistent internal temperatures, the refrigerators help households reduce food spoilage and waste.
Models Tailored for Varied Household Needs
The tech giant’s expanded cooling portfolio includes top-mount, side-by-side, and door-in-door refrigerator models. The company designed these units to meet different household sizes, storage needs, and lifestyle preferences.
LG highlighted the GN-F452PFAQ top-mount refrigerator, which features the FRESH Converter+ system. This feature optimizes temperature settings based on specific food types. The model also includes an auto ice maker to improve convenience for consumers.
For larger families, LG’s side-by-side refrigerator models provide expanded storage capacity, improved organization, and even cooling distribution across all compartments.
Premium MoodUP Refrigerator Brings Interactive Features
LG also showcased its premium MoodUP refrigerator, which combines customizable exterior panels with energy-saving features. The appliance includes the InstaView panel, which allows users to see inside the refrigerator without opening the door. This action reduces cold air loss and slashes energy consumption. The company currently offers this premium appliance alongside a washing machine as part of a promotional bundle.
Mr. Oktai Kim, General Manager of Home Appliance Solutions at LG Electronics Nigeria, noted that Nigerian consumers are becoming increasingly conscious of energy management and household efficiency.
“Nigerian consumers are becoming more intentional about how they use energy and manage household costs,” Kim stated in the announcement. “By offering a diverse range of inverter-powered refrigerators, we are giving families the flexibility to choose solutions that suit their homes while delivering long-term value through energy efficiency and dependable performance.”
