The National Pension Commission has approved Leadway Holdings Limited’s acquisition of Pensions Alliance Limited, officially clearing the way for the deal to take full effect. Leadway previously announced that it had reached an agreement to acquire 100 percent equity in PAL Pensions after FSDH Holding Company Limited and Africa Alliance Insurance PLC divested their shares. With this approval now in place, Leadway will begin integrating the operations of Leadway Pensure PFA and PAL Pensions, working closely with regulators throughout the process.

Group Managing Director of Leadway Holdings, Tunde Hassan-Odukale, described the approval as a landmark moment for the company. He said the completion of the deal marks a major milestone for Leadway and a step that strengthens the wider pension industry. He explained that merging two strong and trusted brands under a unified vision will allow the company to deliver greater value, improved innovation, and long-term financial security for contributors. According to him, the acquisition gives Leadway a stronger platform to raise standards in Nigeria’s pension administration space.

Hassan-Odukale also emphasized that the company sees significant opportunity in the pension market, especially among young Nigerians who are beginning to plan their financial future. He said that the combined strengths, expertise, and resources of Leadway Pensure and PAL Pensions will help the company better serve its diverse customer base and support Nigerians in building lasting wealth.

Leadway noted that the acquisition reflects its long-term commitment to expanding its presence in the financial services landscape. The company operates as a diversified non-operating financial services group with leading positions in insurance, pensions, asset management, trusteeship, and investment solutions, and views this consolidation as a strategic move to deepen its impact across the sector.
