Construction Kaiser names new CEO

Construction Kaiser Limited has named Stefan Euchenhofer as its new Chief Executive Officer, with his tenure set to begin on January 3, 2026. The company framed this decision as a strategic move that reflects its commitment to continuity, strong governance, and long-term sustainable growth.

The announcement highlighted how the company’s founder, Igbuan Okaisabor, has spent more than three decades shaping CKL’s identity. Since starting the firm in 1993, Okaisabor has grown it from a small indigenous construction outfit into one of the country’s most respected building and civil engineering companies. After 32 years of leading the organisation, he set in motion a structured transition aimed at securing CKL’s future and preparing it for a new era of expansion and innovation.

The company described Stefan’s appointment as the beginning of an exciting chapter. It noted that his leadership will build on CKL’s legacy and strengthen its capacity for innovation, sustainability, and long-term growth.

Stefan comes into the role with more than 30 years of international experience across Europe, Asia, and Africa, including 15 years spent working in Nigeria. His expertise covers building construction, civil and structural engineering, infrastructure delivery, and high-level business leadership. Over the years, he has excelled in project execution, contract management, cost control, commercial oversight, and reviving underperforming operations.

Before joining CKL, he served as Managing Director for multiple PERI Formwork and Scaffolding subsidiaries in countries such as the Philippines, Thailand, Indonesia, and Nigeria. In each of these positions, he delivered strong results—leading turnaround efforts, improving governance structures, boosting market competitiveness, and steering the Nigerian business through recession and the Covid-19 pandemic while still achieving notable revenue growth.

His earlier career includes senior roles at Dantata and Sawoe Construction Company in Nigeria and work with international giants like Strabag International, Julius Berger Nigeria, and Bilfinger Berger GE, the former parent company of Julius Berger. His academic background also adds to his leadership strength: he holds a Diplom Ingenieur—equivalent to a master’s degree—in Civil Engineering and Construction Management from the Technical University Fridericiana Karlsruhe in Germany, as well as an LLM in Construction Law and Arbitration from Aberdeen Business School at Robert Gordon University.

Stefan is a member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (UK) and speaks English and German fluently while also having working knowledge of French. CKL sees these qualifications as key to its future. His appointment positions the company to achieve stronger operational excellence, deeper innovation, and improved project delivery. With his guidance, CKL aims to adopt more advanced construction technologies, expand its market presence, strengthen governance frameworks, and continue growing as a proudly indigenous firm that operates at global standards.
