Pinterest is testing new AI to create personalized boards

4 Min Read

Pinterest introduced new AI-powered upgrades to its boards on Monday, bringing users a more personal and interactive experience. The latest features include an AI-driven collage tool called “Styled for You”, which helps users build outfits from their saved fashion Pins, and “Boards Made for You,” a personalized collection curated through artificial intelligence. The updates were reported by TechMarge, which gathered details from sources close to the company.

With “Styled for You,” users can mix and match clothing and accessories to create unique outfits that reflect their personal style. When a user taps on an item within the collage, they can instantly browse through AI-recommended Pins that complement it, helping them discover new combinations that feel natural and inspiring.

Pinterest is also testing “Boards Made for You,” which blends editorial insight with AI suggestions to craft personalized boards. These boards showcase trending looks, weekly outfit inspiration, and shoppable products, appearing in users’ home feeds and inboxes to make browsing and styling more effortless.

The rollout will begin with users in the United States and Canada before expanding to other regions. According to information obtained by TechMarge, Pinterest plans to launch these features widely in the coming months. The company wants to transform its boards from simple organizational tools into dynamic spaces for discovery, shopping, and creativity. The CEO described this direction as part of Pinterest’s mission to evolve into an “AI-enabled shopping assistant,” emphasizing a shift toward smarter, user-focused engagement.

Pinterest already uses artificial intelligence in several ways, from recommendation systems to visual search tools. These new features build on that foundation, giving users a more intuitive and personalized way to explore their interests.

At the same time, Pinterest is being careful about how AI-generated content appears on its platform. Earlier in the year, the company announced plans to label AI-created or AI-modified images and introduced controls that let users limit how many AI-generated Pins they see in their feeds. This move aims to maintain trust and authenticity while still embracing technological innovation.

Beyond AI experiments, Pinterest is adding new tabs that help users organize and explore Pins more easily when viewing boards from profiles. One of the new tabs, “Make It Yours,” will suggest fashion and home decor products based on a user’s saved Pins. Another tab, “More Ideas,” will offer related Pins in areas like beauty, recipes, and art. The final tab, “All Saves,” provides a convenient way for users to access all their previously saved Pins in one place.

These updates reflect Pinterest’s ongoing push to make discovery and creativity more fluid, personal, and inspiring. With AI shaping the way people find and create content, Pinterest is positioning itself as a platform that helps users not just save ideas but bring them to life.
